Tour 1 - Windmills, cheese, fishermen & wooden shoes

This is a leisurely laid back tour which combines a visit to some of The Netherlands most popular tourist attractions, with some unexpected beauty spots – just off the beaten track.
The former bustling fishing harbour of Volendam has transformed itself into a wonderful tourist destination. See the boats come and go, taste the local fish delicacies or walk in the narrow allies between the traditional fishermen’s houses.
Located in the world’s first industrial area the Zaanse Schans is guaranteed to take you back in time to the 17th – 18th’ century, with its preserved buildings, windmills, wooden shoe workshop and many other attractions.
In this tour we try to stay off the main road and bring you close and personal with the Dutch country side. We visit some of the beautiful but less known villages in the area for example: Broek in Waterland, Monnickendam, & Edam. We also stop along the way in a cheese farm where you can taste the famous Dutch cheese.

•    Volendam – fisherman’s village
•    Windmills
•    Wooden shoe workshop
•    Cheese factory + tastings.
•    Beautiful country side

Departure: Upon request. Duration: 5.5 hours
